Hell Week
I have decided that teachers have formed together to pick which weeks they want to pile on the work for their students. It seems that every single semester there is one week, which most students call "hell week," that they have everything due. There is a test in each class, along with at least as many papers as you have credits. This year hell week seems to fall during the week right before Spring Break. Maybe teachers feel that it will make the students appreciate Spring Break more. It's not just at Slippery Rock either. I transferred from Penn State and we also had a hell week there at least once a semester, if not more. I don't know why teachers enjoy watching their students frantically try to get piles of work done in one week. Maybe whenever I am a teacher I will consult with my colleagues and decide on a week when we will have our students complete the bulk of their work for the year.

I also have a tough time during at least one week of each semester. Even when you just have two big things due it can be a struggle. Usually I just stay in my dorm and get stressed out but I feel great after I am done with all my work. Spring break should be good.
ReplyDeleteYES! I completely agree, but it seems like it has been that way for me since the beginning of the semester. Do teachers forget we have other classes and we have a butt load of work to do in each. Yes i understand every teach thinks there class is important but sometimes we as students have to decide what class is most important at that time and not put 100% toward that class that week. For me, i did not study for a test as well as i should have becuase i had alot more important work to get done, so as a result i did not go very well on that test. Oppsy! O well i'll make up for it next time.

ReplyDeleteI can totally relate! This week was so busy for me with a speech due, 2 tests and I was teaching a lesson and now I have to finish my webpage. The good thing is spring break is soon and there is finally time to just relax!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with this. Every semester, every year there is just a week where your teachers decide to gang together and assign projects, tests, and other assignments. Usually it's towards the end of the semester when they are trying to cram every little thing in, but luckily once that week is over it's usually smooth sailing until Summer or Winter break!
ReplyDeleteHaha wow. I couldn't have said it better myself. Like right now for example, I am going crazy about all this blog stuff. Realizing that I am kind of behind and will probably lose points for not knowing exactly what needed to be done with this blogging stuff. I have so much stuff piled on me, I'm lucky I can remember to put underwear on in the morning. :)
